Three questions usually come up before booking: is the course for us, what does the half-day session cover and what will we be able to do afterwards?

  1. Who the course is for

    • Management and everyone involved in deciding whether to bid
    • Administrative staff preparing submission documents
    • No prior knowledge required

Why start here?: Business development is unpaid and deadline-driven. Every hour saved here is an hour that could not previously be billed.

The scope of the course: This is not procurement law training. It covers reviewing and preparing documents, while legal assessment of the procedure remains separate.

  2. What the course covers

    • What tender documents contain. Structure, mandatory information, deadlines and the key pages that determine whether to bid. 45 minutes.
    • Review documents efficiently. The order of review and where to find exclusion criteria. 60 minutes.
    • Compare suitability criteria with your references. What is required, what you can demonstrate and where gaps remain. 45 minutes.
    • Practical exercise with a real tender. Using a document from your practice rather than a sample procedure. 75 minutes.
    • What to prepare in your practice. Reference lists, suitability evidence and filing. The outcome is a task list. 30 minutes.
  3. What you will be able to do

    • Find the decisive passages first in a set of 10-30 tender documents
    • Compare suitability criteria with your own reference list
    • Support a recommendation on whether to bid with source references
    • Recognise unresolved information in documents
    • Maintain your reference list so it can be analysed
